Re: wiccan
Thanks for all those that have responded but especially Caitlin and Stu for bring more clarity to this topic. I know there is much more to be said and I won't say much as I don't know much. I used to be new age (before coming to Christ) which includes everything but the kitchen sink and working alongside wiccans as a spiritual healer was about as much as I new about Wicca. I hope you (and others) continue this dialogue as it invariably surfaces although we do not have any wiccan members. God bless.

Re: wiccan
Anyone who has any dealings with youth in a church context will eventually meet young people whose friends are wiccans, some will be satanists and a few will be occultists.
Being able to respond with care compassion and sensitivity on a subject you have had a chance to think upon is better than reacting because you are scared of something you do not know about. Constructive dialogues allow you to share Christ in a way getting all hysterical does not.

Anna has told me there are 26 answers here. I’m sure a lot has been said. Yet I don't know. Some Anna reads to me others not. I will put in some input. If I have repeated anyone I am sorry. Because I can't see at times I do go over some answers just to answer. Because there are many here and I am sure many of you answered well. Now let me tell you what I have learned about this Wicca.
Indeed this is the modern day word Witch Craft. The spelling has changed a little but this is still witch craft. From what I heard some practice privately and say not a word to anyone. Some practice this with others. Some are within certain Wicca religion where they study and practice. Wicca has grown a lot thanks to Harry Potter books. Harry Potter is just a story right? JK Rowling wrote these books. Potter has morals. He seems good. But when we read the Bible God is absolutely in all cases against Wicca whether it is intended for good or bad. Why is this? For many have been taught this is from mother Earth. This is where your power is coming from. Use it how you want to. Good or for Evil. Some choose good others chose Evil. But here is the Revelation of Wicca. All of it is from Satan and The Demons " border="0" alt="" /> |

Re: wiccan
Wicca does not have common ground with Harry Potter. Maybe some aspects of sympathetic magic but that is about it.
Wicca was growing way before these populist fiction books came out because people are spiritually seeking but so often the church gets in the way of people looking for God. God is against ANY form of idoltary - whatever form it takes. |

Wicca is NOT just a word for witchcraft. I am Wiccan, and I haven't practised witchcraft in about a year. And no, I don't use a wand, no, no animal slaughter, no, no selfish intentions. Only a few times can I remmeber using witchcraft for myself, but this was to help me with my self esteem, how can you pick another up if you cannot even make yourself feel comfortable in your own skin? Personally I get gratification out of feeling like I can make a small difference to others by sending kind thoughts their way. And how do you know what Satan looks like? Quote:
A lot of the time is it the church itself and people calling themselves Christian whether they are or not, turning others away from Christianity, God, etc. I think I quite like your ideas, and this general community you're all way cooler than Crosswalk! |
